Ms.
Tysor has been actively involved in real estate brokerage,
management and development throughout the southern United
States in varying capacities for The Appelt Company and its
numerous affiliates since 1984. Ms. Tysor, a native
Houstonian, joined Colliers Appelt Womack in 1984 as
assistant to Leslie L. Appelt, during his tenure as
President of Colliers Appelt Womack and coordinating, from
both a brokerage and principal standpoint, a broad range of
transactions, covering the spectrum of industrial to
residential development of raw land, improved industrial
transactions, and retail and office leasing. On behalf of
The Appelt Company, she serves as Vice President, principal
and in-house counsel to numerous affiliated corporations
which serve in varying capacities to a combined portfolio of
approximately 1,000,000 square feet of retail and office
space. Her responsibilities include oversight of full
service property and asset management services, development
coordination, and general oversight of tens of thousands of
acres of land held for development in southeast Texas, and
previous sites in Louisiana, Mississippi and southern
Alabama. Ms. Tysor contributes a wide array of development,
brokerage, and management expertise to the company in her
multi-faceted capacity. In addition to her responsibilities
with The Appelt Company, Ms. Tysor also works with Colliers
International in a brokerage capacity, providing full
service brokerage to third party clients in retail, office,
and industrial areas.
Ms.
Tysor received her BBA in Finance, with a Real Estate
emphasis from Texas
A&M University in December
of 1983, and her law degree from South Texas College of Law
in 1988 while in the employ of Mr. Appelt. Her professional
and civic involvement includes membership in the Houston Bar
Association, Houston Young Lawyers Association, Houston
Association of Realtors, The Texas A&M Former Students
Association, CREW Houston (Commercial Real Estate Women) and
the Association of Water Board Directors. She serves as
Director of a
Harris County developer
Municipal Utility District and as President of the
University Place Association, a City of Houston
Superneighborhood Council, on behalf of the Rice Village
Alliance (commercial Landlords and Tenants from the Rice
Village). She is a member of the Intown Chamber of Commerce, and is actively
involved in the Upper Kirby District activities and the
Kirby Coalition. She is a prior member of the Junior League
of Houston, a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Alumnae of
Houston, attends
West University United
Methodist Church, and is
actively involved in the PTO of Lanier Middle School and
Lamar High School.
Julie lives in Houston with her three children, Chan,
Hannah, and Margaret.
